Ram Jethmalani (lawyer and MP) launches a new party, Bharatiya Lok Panchayat, to rid the country of its evils. He served as India's Union minister of law and justice, as chairman of the Indian Bar Council, and as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association. He was noted in the Indian legal fraternity for his forte in criminal law and high-profile civil cases.

India launches a new phase of military modernization after the Kargil conflict.

Jagadish Vasudev, venerated as Sadhguru, is an Indian yoga guru and author. Jaggi Vasudev earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Mysore and has been teaching yoga in southern India since 1982.

Every year, we celebrate World Skyscraper Day on September 3rd. Skyscrapers have existed for around 130 years. The world’s first one, which stood only 138 feet tall, was constructed in Chicago in 1885. The date of September 3rd was chosen since it was the birthday of architect Louis H. Sullivan, who has been dubbed the “Father of Skyscrapers” and is largely credited with designing the first skyscrapers.
