Banaras Hindu University (abbreviated as BHU), formerly Central Hindu College, is a collegiate central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1916 jointly by the Maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh, Maharaja of Banaras Prabhu Narayan Singh, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Sunder Lal and British Theosophist and Home Rule League founder Annie Besant. With over 30,000 students residing on campus, it is the largest residential university in Asia.
*In 1970,
Soviet Venera 7 was a Soviet spacecraft, part of the Venera series of probes to Venus. When it landed on the Venusian surface on 15 December 1970, it became the first spacecraft to soft land on another planet and the first to transmit data from there back to Earth. The lander remained attached to the interplanetary bus during the initial stages of atmospheric entry, to allow the bus to cool the lander to −8 °C (17 °F) for as long as possible.

Air Marshal Aspy Merwan was an officer in the Indian Air Force who rose through the ranks to become independent India's second Chief of the Air Staff, succeeding Subroto Mukerjee in 1960 and preceding Arjan Singh.His flying career began in 1930 at the age of 17, when as a co-pilot he accompanied his friend R. N. Chawla to Croydon Airport, London, from Karachi British India, by flight and were the first Indians to do so. Shortly afterwards, he won the Aga Khan contest for being the first Indian to fly the journey between England and India, solo and within a one month time frame.

Nagendra Vijay, an Indian science writer in Gujarati. He is a son of pioneering journalist and science writer Vijaygupta Maurya. He founded the first science magazine in the Gujarati language called Scope and wrote several books. The Nagendra Vijay Science Foundation also launched the English-language science magazine Safari, on March 2008, of which he is the Editor-in-Chief. He had previously published newsweekly Flash and a science magazine Scope.

Shahu Maharaj was the fifth Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire founded by his grandfather, Shivaji. Born in the Bhonsle family, he was the son of Sambhaji Maharaj, Shivaji Maharaj's eldest son and successor. Shahu, as a child, was taken prisoner along with his mother in 1689 by Mughal sardar, Zulfikar Khan Nusrat Jang after the Battle of Raigarh ( 1689 ).
Under Shahu's reign, Maratha power and influence extended to all corners of the Indian subcontinent.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel endeared as Sardar, was an Indian statesman. He served as the first deputy Prime Minister of India from 1947 to 1950. He was a barrister and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress, who played a leading role in the country's struggle for independence, guiding its integration into a united, independent nation. He was one of the conservative members of the Indian National Congress.
